கோவிட்-19 உலகளாவிய பெருந் தொற்று நோய் காரணமாக ஏற்பட்டுள்ள சுகாதார, சமூக, பொருளாதார பாதிப்புக்களை நலிவடைந்த கனடியர்கள் எதிர் கொள்வதற்கு உதவியான நடவடிக்கைகளைப் பிரதமர் ஜஸ்ரின்ட் ரூடோ இன்று (ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை) அறிவித்தார்.
இளையோருக்கு மன நலம் பேணலுக்கான ஆதரவையும், முதிய கனடியர்களுக்கு நடைமுறை உதவிகளையும் இந்த நடவடிக்கைகள் வழங்கவுள்ளன. மிக எளிதாகப் பாதிக்கப்படக் கூடிய கனடியர்களில் சிலருக்குப் பாதுகாப்பான புகலிடம் கிடைப்பதற்கும், தங்குமிடம் கிடைப்பதற்கும் இவை உதவியாக இருக்கும். கனடிய அரசு
- வீடற்ற நிலையில் இருக்கும் கனடியர்களுக்கும், வன்முறையில் இருந்து தப்பிச் செல்லும் பெண்களுக்கும், சிறுவர்களுக்கும் உதவியை அதிகரிக்கும். 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 18 ஆந் திகதி அறிவித்ததைப் போன்று வீடற்ற நிலையில் இருக்கும் கனடியர்களின் தேவைகளை நிவர்த்தி செய்வதற்காக கனடிய அரசு மேலதிகமாக 157.5 மில்லியன் டொலரை வழங்கும்.
- பெண்களுக்கான பாதுகாப்புத் தங்குமிடங்களுக்கும் (ஷெல்ட்டர்), பாலியல் தாக்குதலுக்கு உள்ளானோருக்கான உதவி நிலையங்களுக்கும் (sexual assault centres) அவற்றின் உதவுதிறனை அதிகரிப்பதற்கோ, நோய்ப் பரம்பலைத் தடுப்பதற்கோ 50 மில்லியன் டொலரை வழங்கும். பூர்வகுடியினரின் பகுதிகளில் உள்ள நிலையங்களுக்கும் இந்த உதவி வழங்கப்படும்.

- சிறுவர்களுக்கும், இளையோருக்குமான உளவளத் துணைச் (counselling) சேவைகளுக்கு ஆதரவு வழங்கும். பாடசாலைகள் மூடப்பட்டுள்ளதாலும், சமூகத்தில் உள்ள வளங்களைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்வதற்கான சந்தர்ப்பம் குறைவடைந்துள்ளதாலும், சிறுவர் உதவித் தொலைபேசியின் (Kids Help Phone) நாள் முழுவதுமான (24/7), அந்தரங்கம் பேணப்படும், இணைய, தொலைபேசி மற்றும் குறுஞ் செய்தி வழி உள வளத் துணைச் சேவைகளுக்கான தேவை கனடா முழுவதிலும் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. தற்போதைய நெருக்கடியான வேளையில் இளையோருக்கு மன நலம் பேணலுக்குத் தேவையான ஆதரவை வழங்கும் வகையில் Kids Help Phone இதற்குக் கனடிய அரசு 7.5 மில்லியன் டொலரை வழங்கும்.

- கோவிட்-19 காரணமாகப் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட முதிய கனடியர்களுக்கு உடனடியான அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளை வழங்கும்.
முதிய கனடியர்களுக்கு நடைமுறை உதவிகளை வழங்கி வரும் உள்ளுர் அமைப்புக்களுக்குக் கனடிய அரசு United Way Canadaவின் ஊடாக 9மில்லியன் டொலரை வழங்கும். பலசரக்குப் பொருட்களையும் மருந்துகளையும் ஏனைய தேவைப்படும் பொருட்களையும் விநியோகம் செய்தல், தனி நபர்களின் தேவைகளைக் கண்டறிவதற்கு அவர்களைச் சந்திப்பது, சமூகத்தில் உள்ள உதவிகளுடன் அவர்களைத் தொடர்புபடுத்துவது போன்றன இதில் உள்ளடங்கலாம்.

Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on March 29th
Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today (Sunday) announced measures to support vulnerable Canadians to help cope with the health, social, and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These measures will help provide young people with mental health supports and Canadian seniors with practical services. They will also help ensure some of the most vulnerableCanadians have a safe place to turn and a roof over their heads. The Government of Canada will:
○ Increase support for Canadians experiencing homelessness, and provide help for women and children fleeing violence. As announced on March 18, 2020, the Government of Canada will provide an additional $157.5 million to address the needs of Canadians experiencing homelessness.
○ Provide up to $50 million to women’s shelters and sexual assault centres, including facilities in Indigenous communities, to help with their capacity to manage or prevent an outbreak.

○ Provide support for counselling services to children and youth. As a result of school closures and reduced access to community resources, Kids Help Phone is experiencing increased demand for its 24/7 confidential online, telephone, and text counselling services across Canada. The Government of Canada will give$7.5 million in funding to Kids Help Phone to provide young people with the mental health support they need during this difficult time.

○ Provide immediate essential services to Canadian seniors impacted by COVID-
- The Government of Canada will contribute $9 million through United Way
Canada for local organizations to support practical services to Canadian seniors. These services could include the delivery of groceries, medications, or other needed items, or personal outreach to assess individuals’ needs and connect them to community supports.
