மாகாணங்களுக்கும் பிராந்தியங்களுக்கும் மருத்துவ கருவிகளை விநியோகம் செய்வதற்குக் கனடிய அரசு அமசோன் கனடாவுடன் ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்றைச் செய்து கொண்டுள்ளதாகப் பிரதமர் ஜஸ்ரின் ட்ரூடோ இன்று (வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) அறிவித்தார். அமசோன் கனடா அதன் பாரிய விநியோக வலையமைப்பைப் பயன்படுத்தி மருத்துவ உபகரணங்களை அவசியம் தேவை நிலவும் இடங்களுக்கு விநியோகிக்கும்.
கனடிய பாதுகாப்புப் படையினர், தேவை ஏற்பட்டால் உதவி புரிவதற்குத் தயாராக இருப்பதாகவும், அதற்கான அவர்களது தயார்ப்படுத்தல் குறித்தும் பிரதமர் கடந்த சில நாட்களாக விளக்கமளித்துள்ளார். குபெக் மாகாண அரசு, வடக்கில் உள்ள பகுதிகளிலும் தொலை தூரத்தில் இருக்கும் சமூகங்களுக்கும் கனடியப் படையினரின் உதவியை வழங்குமாறு சமஷ்டி அரசிடம் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளதாக அவர் இன்று உறுதி செய்தார். குபெக்கின் கோரிக்கைப்படி உதவிக்குக் கனடியப் படையினர் அனுப்பப்படுவார்களென அவர் உறுதி செய்தார்.
கோவிட்-19 நெருக்கடி வேளையில் கனடாவெங்கும் உள்ள உணவு வங்கிகள், உலகளாவிய பெருந் தொற்று நோய் காரணமாகப் புதிய சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்கின்றன. சமூக இடைவெளி பேணும் நடவடிக்கைகளால் உணவு வங்கிகளுக்கான தொண்டர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும், நன்கொடைகளின் அளவும் வழமையிலும் குறைவடைந்துள்ளன.
உணவு வங்கிகளும், அவற்றின் தொண்டர்களும் புரியும் பணியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்திய பிரதமர் ஜஸ்ரின் ட்ரூடோ – பூர்வ குடியினரின் சமூகங்களிலும், வட பகுதிச் சமூகங்களிலும் உள்ளவர்களை உள்ளடக்கிய – நலிவடைந்த கனேடியர்களின் அவசர உணவுத் தேவையை நிறைவேற்ற அரசு 100 மில்லியன் டொலரை வழங்குமென அறிவித்தார். உணவு முக்கியமாகத் தேவைப்படுவோருக்கு அதைக் கொள்வனவு செய்து வழங்குவதற்கு நிறுவனங்களுக்குப் பயன்படவுள்ள இந்தப் பணம், Food Banks Canada, Breakfast Club, Salvation Army (இரட்சணிய சேனை) போன்ற பல அமைப்புக்களுக்கும் உதவியாக அமையும்.
கோவிட்-19 பொருளாதார நடவடிக்கைத் திட்டத்தின் ஒரு அங்கமாக வருமானம் குறைந்தோருக்கு அரசு வழங்கவுள்ள அதிகரித்த GSTவரி மீளளிப்பு, ஒரு மாதம் முன்பாகவே வழங்கப்படுமெனப் பிரதமர் ட்ரூடோ அறிவித்தார். தகுதி பெறும் வயது வந்தோர் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் 300 டொலர் வரையும், ஒவ்வொரு சிறுவருக்கும் 150 டொலர் வரையுமாக அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள GSTவரி மீளளிப்பு கனடியர்களுக்கு இந்த ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் வழங்கப்படும்.
GSTவரி மீளளிப்பையும், கனடா அவசர நடவடிக்கைக் கொடுப்பனவு(CERB) உட்பட்ட ஏனைய உதவிகளையும் மக்கள் பெற்றுக் கொள்வதை இலகுவாக்குவதற்குப் பாரிய வங்கிகளுடன் கனடிய அரசு செயலாற்றி வருகிறது. இதுவரை நேரடி வைப்புத் (direct deposit) திட்டத்தில் இணைந்து கொள்ளாதவர்கள் அவர்களது வங்கிகளின் இணையத் தளங்களில் இன்று முதல் நேரடி வைப்புத் திட்டத்தில் இணைந்து கொள்வது குறித்த தகவல்களை அறியக் கூடியதாக இருக்கும்.
சுகாதார அமைச்சர் பட்டிஹய்டு (Patty Hajdu) செல்பேசிகளுக்காக புதிய Canada COVID – 19 செயலி அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டதை அறிவித்துள்ளார். புதிதாக அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள இந்தச் செயலி கனடியர்கள் கோவிட் – 19 ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாவெனச்சுய ஆய்வு செய்வதற்கும், மருத்துவ தகவல்கள், புள்ளி விபரங்கள், பெறக் கூடிய உதவிகள் ஆகியவற்றை உடனடியாக அறிந்து கொள்வதற்கும் வழி வகுக்கும்.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on April 3rd
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today (Friday) that the Canadian government has entered into an agreement with Amazon Canada to deliver medical devices to the provinces and territories. Amazon will use its large distribution network to deliver medical equipment to where it is neededmost.
Over the last few days, the Prime Minister had briefed on the readiness and preparation by the Canadian Armed Forces to step-in and help should the need arise. Today he confirmed that the federal government has received a request from the Government of Quebec for an intervention by the Armed Forces to lend a hand to northern and isolated communities. He confirmed that the Armed Forces will be there to support Quebec’s request.
During the COVID-19 crisis, food banks across Canada have been facing new challenges because of the pandemic. With social-distancing measures in place, food banks have fewer volunteers and fewer donations than they normally would get. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau emphasized the importance of the work done by food banks and their volunteers, and announced government funding of $100 million to meet the urgent food needs of vulnerable Canadians, including those living in Indigenous and northern communities. This money will help organizations buy and deliver food to those who need it most,and will help support organizations like Food Banks Canada, Breakfast Club, and the Salvation Army and many more.
Prime Minister Trudeau also announced the government’s plan to supplement the GST Credit to help low-income people as part of COVID-19 Economic Response Plan will be made available one month earlier. The GST credit, increased up to $300 for every qualifying adult and $150 for every child, will be sent to Canadians this month, in April. To access the GST Credit and other benefits easier, the Canadian government has also been working with major banks to deliver benefits, including the CERB, through direct deposit. Effective today, Canadians should be able to visit their bank’s website for information on how to enroll for direct deposit if not already done so.
Minister of Health Patty Hajdu, has also announced the launch of the new Canada COVID-19 app for mobile devices. This app is a newly launched tool that will allow Canadians to self- assess for COVID-19, access up-to-date health information, statistics, and resources on where to get help.
