700 வரையான இளையோருக்கு வேலைவாய்ப்பு வழங்குவதற்கான புதிய நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு மூலம் விவசாயத்துறைக்கு ஆதரவளிக்கும் திட்டத்தையும் பிரதம மந்திரி அறிவித்தார். பயிர்ச் செய்கைக் காலம் ஆரம்பமாகியுள்ள நிலையில் கனேடியர்களுக்கான உணவை உற்பத்தி செய்வதற்கு விவசாயிகள் முன்னொரு போதும் இல்லாத அளவு கடுமையாக உழைக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால், கோவிட்-19 காரணமாக வேலையாட்களைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்வதில் அவர்களில் பலர் சிரமத்தை எதிர் கொள்கிறார்கள். இன்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நிதியுதவி, எமக்கு உணவை உற்பத்தி செய்வோருக்கு ஆதரவளிப்பதுடன், இளையோருக்குப் புதிய வாய்ப்புக்களையும் வழங்கும்.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on May 26th
Canadian jobs and businesses depend on stable and productive economies in other countries – so it matters to how everyone weathers this storm. Globally, COVID-19 has so far claimed more than 344,000 lives, with more than 5.3 million confirmed cases. It will cause the global economy to sharply contract this year, throwing more than 300 million people out of work and pushing more than 30 million people into extreme poverty.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, today announced that Canada will be convening a high-level meeting with UN Secretary-General AntónioGuterres and Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica, on 28 May, to advance concrete solutions to the development emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.There is a need to create an international system that recognizes who is left behind and strives to lift them up. Canada is ready to do its part, to help bring the world together in the fight against COVID-19.
The Prime Minister today also addressed the report on Long-term facilities in Ontario that was presented by the Canadian Armed Forces. The report has brought to light extremely troubling observations in several long-term care facilities. This report has been shared with the Province of Ontario, and the federal government has committed to support Ontario as the province takes action on improving care for seniors in long-term centres.
To better protect Canadians and front line workers, the government has over the last 10 weeks, acquired over 40 flight loads of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). At the same time, investment in domestic production has also increased. Today the Prime Minister announcedthat the government will sign a contract with General Motors to produce 10 million face masks.
Investments like this, will not only secure equipment to keep people safe and help slow the spread of COVID-19, but also provide autoworkers in Oshawa, with good, well-paying jobs in an industry that’s faced tough times.
Similarly the government is also supporting companies and research centres across Canada to develop new, improved COVID-19 test kits and products. A new contract has been signed for 10,000 ventilators to be produced through a partnership between Canadian Nobel Laureate Dr. Art McDonald, his team, and Vexos. Deliveries will begin this summer, bringing the total of made-in-Canada ventilators to 40,000.
The Prime Minister also announced support for the farming sector through a new funding for up to 700 youth jobs. With the growing season underway, farmers are working harder than ever to keep Canadians fed. But because of COVID-19, many are having trouble finding workers. The funding announced today will support the people who put food on our plates, while creating new opportunities for young people.
