COVID – 19 காரணமாக மரணமான 233 கனடியர்களின் குடும்பங்களுக்கும் பிரதமர் ட்ரூடோ இரங்கல் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். உயிர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு ஒவ்வொரு கனடியரிடமும் உள்ள பொறுப்பு, வல்லமை என்பவற்றை அவர் வலியுறுத்தினார். COVID – 19 பரவும் ஆபத்தைக் குறைப்பதற்காக, சமூக இடை வெளி பேணுதல், கைகளைக் கழுவுதல், பொது இடங்களுக்குச் செல்வதை மிகவும் குறைத்துக் கொள்ளுதல் என்பன தொடர்பான கனடா பொதுச் சுகாதார நிறுவனத்தின் பரிந்துரைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவதைத் தொடருமாறு அனைத்துக் கனடியர்களிடமும் அவர் வலியுறுத்திக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on April 5th
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) applications will open tomorrow (Monday), April 6th. Once applied, the payments will be madewithin 3-5 days for those who are registered for Direct Deposit, and within 10 days by cheque. Canadians looking to apply can get more information online at Canada.ca/Coronavirus.
Prime Minister Trudeau recognized the solidarity of Canadians during such a time of crisis, and thanked all those who are doing their part to help their fellow Canadians including; businesses who have stepped up to meet the challenges, doctors and nurses who have come out of retirement to help, volunteers who make sure food banks and other crucial supports are being delivered and farmers and all working along the supply chain to make sure Canadians can meet their essential needs.
Health Canada has launched a call for volunteers and is building an inventory of volunteers with specialized skills. Volunteers who are able to help with contact tracing, case tracking, case data collection and reporting and Health system surge capacity can visit Canada.ca/Coronavirus to sign up. The application for the National COVID-19 Volunteer Recruitment will be open until April 24th.
The Canadian government has also started to contact reservists for the Canadian Armed Forces, and is offering them full time positions with full time pay and benefits. As the Canadian Armed Forces are trained and capable to assist with emergency response across the nation, the government is seeking to bolster the number of members in the armed forces who can be readily summoned upon should the need arise.
Prime Minister Trudeau offered his condolences to the families of the 233 Canadians who have died due to COVID-19, and reiterated the responsibility and ability that each and everyCanadian has to save lives during this time. He urged all Canadians to continue following the recommendations of Public Health Canada about social distancing, hand-washing, and minimizing venturing to public spaces to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading.
