COVID-19 உலகளாவிய பெருந் தொற்று நோய்க்கு எதிராகக் கனடா நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வரும் வேளையில், பிரதமர் Justin Trudeau இன்று (சனிக்கிழமை) பின்வரும் விடயங்களை அறிவித்தார்:
- வெளிநாடுகளில் சிக்கியிருக்கும் கனடியர்களை மீட்டு வரும் முதல் தொகுதி விமானங்கள் இந்த வார இறுதியில் கனடாவை வந்தடையவுள்ளன. இந்த நாடுகள் வழங்கிய சிறப்பு அனுமதியும், விமான சேவை நிறுவனங்களின் இணக்கமும் இதைச் சாத்தியமாக்கியுள்ளது.
– Moroccoவில் இருந்து வரும் விமானம் இன்றிரவு தரையிறங்கும்.
– பெருந் தொகையான கனடியர்கள் சிக்கியிருக்கும் Spain, Peru உட்பட்ட நாடுகளில் இருந்து வரவுள்ள விமானங்கள் குறித்த விபரங்கள் எதிர்வரும் நாட்களில் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.

அதே வேளை, மீட்பு விமான சேவைகளுக்கான மேலதிகமான செலவினத்தை அரசு ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும்.
- வெளிநாடுகளில் சிக்கியிருக்கும் கனடியர்கள் அவர்களது பெயர்களை வெளிநாடுகளில் உள்ள கனடியர்களின் தேசிய பதிவேட்டில் (www.voyage2.gc.ca) இது வரை பதிந்திருக்காவிட்டால், அதில் பதிவு செய்து கொள்ளுமாறு கோரப்படுகிறார்கள்.

கனடிய குடி மக்கள், நிரந்தர வதிவிட உரிமை பெற்றவர்கள், அவர்களது வாழ்க்கைத் துணை, பிள்ளைகள் ஆகியோருக்கு மட்டுமே COVID-19 காரணமான பயணத் தடையில் இருந்து இது வரை விலக்களிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Governmenton March 21st
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau highlighted the following updates today (Saturday), as Canada continues to address the COVID-19 pandemic:
- The first Rescue flights repatriating Canadians stranded in other countries will be landing in Canada this weekend. This has been made possible by special permission from the respective countries and in agreement with airline companies.
- The first flight from Morocco – will be landing tonight.
- Over the coming days, flights from other countries where a large number ofCanadians are stranded will be announced – including for Spain and Peru.
- The government will be undertaking additional costs for the rescue flights, whiletravellers will be asked to pay a responsible normal fare amount.
- Canadians who are stranded overseas are requested to register with the National Registry of Canadians Abroad If they have not already done so at: www.voyage2.gc.ca
- All returnees to Canada, whether it is by independent travel or on the government organized flights are expected to Self-isolate for 14 days.
- The federal government is also working with Northern communities to reduce the spread of
COVID-19 there, including by working with partners to:
- Reduce travellers to the Northern communities.
- Maintain accessibility of goods and services there.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged today as International Day of Elimination of Racial discrimination, sharing the message that as fear fuels racism and discrimination, Canadians need to remain vigilant tofight fear, misinformation and stigma during this time.
Minister Marco Mendocino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship has also updated the current travel restrictions for those entering Canada:
- As of today (Saturday), Canada will allow:
- Temporary Foreign Workers and Students who received their permits before March16th, 2020 to travel to Canada;
- All who have been approved for Permanent Residency before March 16th, 2020, totravel to Canada.
This exemption is in addition to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents and their spouse/partner or children who were the only ones previously allowed to travel due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
