COVID-19 உலகளாவிய பெருந் தொற்று நோய்க்கு எதிராகக் கனடா நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வரும் வேளையில், பிரதமர் Justin Trudeau பின்வரும் விடயங்களை இன்று (வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) அறிவித்தார்:
- COVID-19 இற்கு எதிரான போராட்டத்திற்குத் தொழிற் துறையைத் தயார்படுத்தும் கனடிய திட்டத்தை அரசு செயற்படுத்தவுள்ளது. COVID-19 காரணமாக ஏற்படும் தேவையை நிறைவு செய்யக் கூடிய வகையில் கனடாவின் மருத்துவ வழங்கல் வலையமைப் பலமாகவும், நீடித்திருக்கக் கூடியதாகவும் இருப்பதை உறுதி செய்வதற்குக் கனடிய நிறுவனங்களுடனும், உற்பத்தித் தொழிற் துறையுடனும் இந்தத் திட்டம் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்படும்.இந்தத் திட்டத்தில் உள்ளடங்குபவை:
– முகக் கவசங்கள், சுவாச உதவிக் கருவிகள், கைகளைத் துப்புரவாக்கும் பதார்த்தம் போன்றவற்றை ஏற்கனவே உற்பத்தி செய்து வரும் நிறுவனங்கள் உற்பத்தியை மிகப் பெருமளவாக அதிகரிப்பதற்கு உதவி வழங்கப்படும்.
– தமது தொழிற்சாலைகளை மாற்றியமைத்து மருத்துவத் துறைப் பொருட்களைத் தயாரிக்க முன் வரும் – மோட்டார்க் கார் உற்பத்தித் தொழிற் துறை போன்ற -நிறுவனங்களுக்கு உதவி வழங்கப்படும்.
– புத்தாக்க முயற்சியுள்ள நிறுவனங்களும், தொழிற் துறைகளும், அவை வைரஸ் பரம்பலைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவதற்கு எவ்வாறு உதவி புரியலாமென்பதை ஆராய்வதற்கு அரசைத் தொடர்பு கொள்ளுமாறு அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன.
- அமெரிக்காவுக்கும், கனடாவுக்கும் இடையிலான எல்லை இன்று நள்ளிரவுடன் மூடப்படுகிறது. இரண்டு நாடுகளுக்கும் இடையிலான வணிகத்தை இது பாதிக்கமாட்டாது.
- COVID-19 பரம்பல் வேளையில், எல்லையைக் கடப்போரின் எண்ணிக்கையை மட்டுப்படுத்தும் நோக்கத்துடன், புதிதாக வரும் முறையற்ற குடி வரவாளர்களை (irregular immigrants) அமெரிக்காவுக்கோ, கனடாவுக்கோ திருப்பி அனுப்பும் தற்காலிக, இரு நாடுகளும் கடைப்பிடிக்கும், உடன்பாடு ஒன்றைக் கனடாவும், ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவும் ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளன.
- நாடு திரும்ப முற்படும் கனடியர்களை மீண்டும் நாட்டுக்கு அழைத்து வருவதற்கு விமானப் போக்குவரத்துத் தொழிற் துறையுடன் கனடிய அரசு கலந்துரையாடி வருகிறது. இதன் பயனாக,
Morocoவில் இருந்து முதலாவது விமானம் இந்த வார இறுதியில் கனடாவுக்குப் புறப்படும். இது குறித்த மேலதிக அறிவிப்புகள் எதிர்வரும் நாட்களில் வெளியிடப்படும்.

- வழமையாக 27,000 விண்ணப்பங்களைப் பெறும் Service கனடாவிடம் கடந்த வாரம் ஏறத்தாழ 500,000 விண்ணப்பங்கள் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டன. கனடியர்களுக்கு உதவி கிடைப்பதை உறுதி செய்வதற்குச் சமஷ்டி அரசு செயலாற்றி வருகிறது. அதிகரித்த தேவையை நிவர்த்தி செய்வதற்கு ஆயிரக்கணக்கான அரச பணியாளர்கள் இரவு பகலாகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்கள்.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Governmenton March 20th
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau highlighted the following updates today (Friday), as Canada continues to address the COVID-19 pandemic:
- The Federal Government will be launching Canada’s Plan to Mobilize Industry to Fight COVID-19. This plan will work with Canadian companies and the manufacturing industry to ensure Canada’s medical supply chain is strong and sustainable to meet the demands of the COVID-19. The plan consists of:
– helping companies that are already making things like masks, ventilators, and hand sanitizer to massively scale up production;
– Providing support to companies who want to retool their manufacturing facilities and shift their production – such as the automotive production industry which will now produce medical equipment;
– Inviting innovative companies and industries to reach out to the government to see how they can help fight the spread of the virus.
- The US-Canada border will be closed for all non-essential services as of midnight tonight. This will not affect trade and commerce between the two countries.
- Canada and US also have a temporary mutual and reciprocal agreement to return any new irregular immigrants back to the US or Canada to limit the number of people crossing the borders during the COVID-19 outbreak
- Canada is also in discussion with the airline industry to help repatriate Canadian who are looking to return back. As a result, the first plane out of Morocco will be leaving for Canada this weekend. There will be further announcements on this over the coming days.

- Service Canada, last week, has received nearly 500,000 new applications, whereas, normally they receive 27,000 applications. The federal government is working to ensure that Canadians are being supported, and 1000s of public servants are working around the clock to meet theincreased demand.
