கோவிட்-19 உலகளாவிய பெருந்தொற்று நோய்க்கு எதிராகக் கனடா நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வரும் வேளையில், பிரதமர் ஜஸ்ரின் ட்ரூடோ இன்று (திங்கள்) பின்வரும் விடயங்களை அறிவித்தார்:
கோவிட்-19 காரணமாகப் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட வணிக நிறுவனங்களுக்கு 75 சதவீதம் வரையான சம்பள மானியம் வழங்கப்படுமெனக் கனடிய அரசு மார்ச் 27 ஆந் திகதி அறிவித்தது. கனடா அவசர சம்பள மானியம் (Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy) என்ற இந்த மானியதைப் பெறுவதற்கான தகுதி குறித்த மேலதிக தகவல்களைப் பிரதமர் இன்று வெளியிட்டார்:
- இதற்குத் தகுதி பெறுவதற்கு வணிக வருமானம் கோவிட்-19 காரணமாக ஆகக் குறைந்தது 30 சத வீதத்தால் குறைவடைந்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
- நிறுவனங்கள் இந்த மானியத்தைப் பெறுவதற்குத் தகுதி பெறுவதற்கு அங்குள்ள பணியாளர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை தடையாக இருக்கமாட்டாது. ஒரு பணியாளராக இருந்தாலும், 1000 பணியாளர்களாக இருந்தாலும் வேலைவாய்ப்பைப் பாதுகாத்து ஆதரவளிப்பதற்கு இந்த மானியத் திட்டம் உதவியளிக்கும்.

Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on March 30th
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau highlighted the following updates today (Monday) , as Canada continues to address the COVID-19 pandemic: On March 27th, the Canadian government announced a wage subsidy of up to 75% to businesses affected by COVID-19. Today the Prime Minister provided further information about qualifying for this subsidy – the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy:
- To qualify, business revenues should have decreased by at least 30% because of COVID-19.
- The number of employees of the business does not impact the eligibility of the business.Whether it is 1 employee or 1000 this subsidy program is designed to protect and support the jobs.
- Non-profit organizations and charities, as well companies both big and small will be able to apply for the wage subsidy. For workers impacted by COVID-19, the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy delivers the following:
- If workers are still working for a company that has been impacted by COVID-19, the government will cover up to 75% of their salary on the first $ 58,700 that is earned. This means up to $847 a week.
- The subsidy will be backdated to March 15.
The emergency measures announced over the last few days have been created as a comprehensive 3-point plan to support everyone across the economy weather impacts of COVID-19 and to prepare for a stronger future:
- The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, focuses on protecting jobs.
- The Canada Emergency Response Benefit, helps those who lose their job
- And the easy, guaranteed loans for businesses of all sizes, helps businesses access credit.
Minister of Finance, Minister Bill Morneau and Minister of Small Businesses Minister Mary Ngwill be making available the background documents to explain the technical details of this
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced that the government is ready to act and provide help for Canadians in every scenario.
- Over the last few weeks, the Canadian Armed Forces have been gearing up to support communities fight COVID-19.
- To date, the federal government has not received any request for action from the provinces or territories. But if that were to change, the Armed Forces would be ready to answer the call.
- The help the Armed Forces can provide varies from transporting medical supplies or protecting homes during the flood or forest fire season in various parts of the country or general emergency preparedness.
The Prime Minister recognized the work and dedication of all members of Canada’s Armed Forces, and also thanked the work of all first responders, medical professionals, custodial staff, farmers and people who work along the supply chain.
