கனடாவில் உள்ள ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஆய்வுப் பணியாளர்கள், உயிர்காக்கும் புற்று நோய் சிகிச்சை முதல் சுற்றுச் சூழலைப் பாதுகாக்கும் தூய்மையான தொழில் நுட்பங்கள் வரை எமது நல்வாழ்வுக்கும், பொருளாதாரத்திற்கும் உதவியாகக் கண்டுபிடிப்புகளையும் புத்தாக்கத்தையும் மேற்கொள்கிறார்கள். கோவிட்-19 உலகத் தொற்று நோய் காலப் பகுதியில் கனேடிய கல்வித் துறை ஆய்வாளர் சமூகத்திற்கு 450 மில்லியன் டொலர் நிதியுதவியை வழங்குவதாகப் பிரதம மந்திரி ஜஸ்ரின் ட்ரூடோ இன்று அறிவித்தார். இந்த முதலீடு:
- தொழிற் துறையினதும், கொடையாளிகளினதும் நிதி உதவியைப் பெறும் ஆய்வாளர்களால், அரசு ஏற்கனவே அறிவித்த கோவிட்-19 உதவிகளைப் பெற முடியாதிருந்தால், அவர்களை பல்கலைக்கழகங்களும், சுகாதார ஆய்வு நிறுவனங்களும் தொடர்ந்து வைத்திருப்பதற்கு உதவியாக சம்பள உதவி வழங்கப்படும். அவர்களது பணி தற்காலிகமாக இடை நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் இந்த உதவி வழங்கப்படும். ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் வார மொன்றுக்கு ஆகக் கூடியது 847 டொலர் வரை, சம்பளத்தின் 75 சதவீதம் வரையான பணத்தை அரசு வழங்கும்.
- பல்கலைக் கழகங்களும், சுகாதார ஆய்வு நிறுவனங்களும் நெருக்கடி நிலையிலும் இன்றியமையாத ஆய்வு தொடர்பான பணிகளைத் தொடர்வதற்கும், இடைவெளி பேணும் கட்டுப்பாடுகள் நீக்கப்பட்ட பின்னர் ஆய்வுப் பணிகளை முழு அளவுக்கு அதிகரிப்பதற்கும் உதவி வழங்கப்படும். தகுதி பெறும் செலவினங்களின் 75 சத வீதம் வரை வழங்கப்படும். ஆபத்தான பொருட்களைப் பாதுகாப்பாகச் சேகரித்து வைத்தல், உலகத் தொற்று நோயின் போது தடைப்பட்டுப்போன தரவுகளை மீண்டும் சேகரித்தல் போன்றவற்றுக்கு உதவி வழங்கப்படும்.

கனடா கோடை வேலைத் (Canada Summer Jobs) திட்டத்தின் தற்காலிக நீடிப்புக்கள் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்துள்ள நிலையில், கனடா முழுவதிலும் உள்ள வேலை கொள்வோர் எதிர்வரும் மாதங்களுக்குத் தற்போது மாணவர்களைப் பணிக்கு அமர்த்துகிறார்கள். கோவிட்-19 காரணமாக கனடா கோடை வேலைத் திட்டம் 2021 ஃபெப்ரவரிவரை நீடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், கோவிட்-19 காரணமாக நிறுவனங்களின் செயற்பாடுகளில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள மாற்றங்களுக்கு அமைவாகப் பகுதி நேரமாகவும் மாணவர்கள் பணிக்கு அமர்த்தப்படலாம். வேலைவாய்ப்பைத் தேடும் மாணவர்களும், அண்மையில் பட்டம் பெற்றோரும் JobBank.gc.ca யில் அல்லது Job Bank செல்பேசி செயலியில் வேலை வாய்ப்பு அறிவித்தல்களைப் பார்வையிடலாம். எதிர்வரும் வாரங்களில் Job Bank கில் மேலும் அதிக வேலைவாய்ப்புக்கள் இணைக்கப்படும்.
வேலை செய்ய முடியாதுள்ள அல்லது வேலைவாய்ப்புத் தேடும் மாணவர்கள் கனடா மாணவர் அவசர கொடுப்பனவுக்கு (Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)) இன்று, மே 15 ஆந் திகதி முதல் My CRA கணக்கின் மூலம் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
கனடா சிறுவர் கொடுப்பனவைப் (CCB) பெறும் பெற்றோருக்கும், GST/HST வரி மீளளிப்பைப் பெறுவோருக்குமான கொடுப்பனவுகள் செப்ரெம்பர் மாதத்தின் இறுதி வரை நீடிக்கப்படுவதாகவும் பிரதம மந்திரி அறிவித்தார். உரிய நேரத்தில் வருமானவரிக் கணக்கைச் சமர்ப்பிக்க முடியாதுள்ளோர் செப்ரெம்பரின் இறுதி வரை கொடுப்பனவுகளைப் பெற இது வழி வகுக்கும். வருமானத்திற்கு மேலதிகமான உறுதிக் கொடுப்பனவைப் (Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)) பெறும் முதியோருக்கும் இதைப் போன்ற நடவடிக்கை இந்த வாரத்தின் ஆரம்பத்தில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. CCB, GST/HST, GIS ஆகிய கொடுப்பனவுகள் செப்ரெம்பரின் இறுதி வரை நீடிக்கப்பட்டாலும், அனைத்துக் கனேடியர்களும் ஜூன் முதலாந் திகதி என்ற காலக்கெடுவுக்குள் அவர்களது வருமான வரிக் கணக்குகளைச் சமர்ப்பிப்பதற்கு தம்மாலியன்ற அனைத்தையும் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
Updated Emergency Measures by the Canadian Federal Government on May 15th
From life-saving cancer treatments to clean technologies that protect our environment, thousands of research staff in Canada are driving discoveries and innovations that support our well-being and our economy. The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced $450 million in funding to help Canada’s academic research community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The investment will:
- Provide wage supports to universities and health research institutes, so they can retain research staff who are funded from industry or philanthropic sources and are unable to access some of the government’s existing COVID-19 support measures. This would apply even if their work has been temporarily suspended. The government will provide up to 75 per cent per individual, with a maximum of $847 per week.
- Support universities and health research institutes to maintain essential research-related activities during the crisis, and to ramp back up to full research operations once physical distancing measures are lifted. This will cover up to 75 per cent of total eligible costs, and will support activities such as the safe storage of dangerous substances, and restarting data setsthat were interrupted during the pandemic.
The Prime Minister also confirmed today that the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy(CEWS) will be extended for another 3 months – until August 2020. As businesses begin to restart operations, the extended CEWS will be there to support employers and the millions of Canadians returning to the workplace. The government will also be announcing expanded eligibility criteria for the CEWS to enable more employers to take advantage of the subsidy to relaunch their businesses.
With the previously announced temporary extensions for the Canada Summer Jobs now in place, employers across Canada are now hiring students for the months to come. Due to COVID-19 the Canada Summer Jobs program has been extended until February 2021 and alsoallows students to be hired on a part-time basis to adapt to the COVID-19 changes in operations. The students and recent graduates looking for employment can now access job postings at JobBank.gc.ca or through the Job Bank mobile app. More jobs will be added to the Job Bank in the weeks to come.
The Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB), for students who are unable to work or looking for a job can be applied starting today, May 15, through the My CRA account. The Prime Minister also announced that parents who are receiving the Canada Child Benefit, and people who are getting the GST/HST credit will have benefits automatically extended until the end September. This will allow those who are unable to file their taxes in time to continue receiving payments until the end of September. Similar measures were also announced earlier this week for seniors who are in receipt of Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). Even if CCB, GST/ HST and GIS benefits are automatically extendeduntil the end of September, all Canadians should do their best to file their taxes in time for the June 1st deadline.
